Today I left Washington.

I put my life in my car, hugged Jillian, drove away from the place that i called home for 2 years and drove away from my beloved UPS.

I am heartbroken. These past 4 years have really been the best 4 years of my life. I have grown and learned and adventured and lived and i owe so much of who i am to that amazing, beautiful, unexpected place i can now call my alma mater.

Kody and i drove out of washington and drove through nearly all of Oregon. Part of me is still in the mindset that i will return in the fall. Another part knows that this may be the last time i am in the PNW for a very long time. Both notions are equally as heartbreaking. I don’t want to leave my beloved home but i know there is so much adventure out there waiting for me and i want to experience it all.

Tomorrow we enter California. Dear old Penelope is chugging along, even though she literally has everything i have survived on during the past 4 years weighing her down on her wheels.

Who knows what the real world will bring me, but i feel confident that i can take whatever it dishes out to me.

So bring it on, real world. I am ready for you.

One good thing about this movie: he could have said “no, shooting arrows is not for little girls” but instead he said “no, shooting with that big bow is not for little girls. use this small one.” i think that’s fantastic.

It’s not that, it’s the fact that Meredith can’t actually lift the bow. I love that her father realized that she was mature enough to handle a bow a that age. Her brothers are about that age during the main story of the movie and he doesn’t give them shit! Because they can’t handle it. Nothing to do with their gender.

for those not in the know, night witches were russian lady bombers who bombed the shit out of german lines in WW2. Thing is though, they had the oldest, noisiest, crappest planes in the entire world. The engines used to conk out halfway through their missions, so they had to climb out on the wings mid flight to restart the props. the planes were also so noisy that to stop germans from hearing them combing and starting up their anti aircraft guns, they’d climb up to a certain height, coast down to german positions, drop their bombs, restart their engines in midair, and get the fuck out of dodge.

their leader flew over 200 missions and was never captured.

Just said my first real post grad good bye.

It sucked.

And it wasn’t even someone I liked a lot.

I can’t even imagine how tomorrow night will go when tons of people I LOVE dearly will be at my house and I have to say goodbye to them all.

Time to watch The Avengers and drink half a bottle of wine so that I don’t weep all over the place.
